the Headpiece
The Headpiece is a project that focuses on the exploration of fibre art. Textiles can be used in endless ways to create soft forms and sculptures.
For this project, students are creating a sculpture that can be worn on the head out of any material including plastic, paper, fabric, old toys, netting, yarn, beads, scraps, weaving, felted bits, knitted pieces; anything the students can find and piece together.
Consider colour and repetition of forms to create a unified piece.
The end result is a tactile free-for-all that introduces students into the world of textiles in a fun way.
